Lisbon tourist observations (mfg)
One more relaxing day before the challenges begin. What strikes me about Lisbon:
No escaping the need for sunglasses in this town. The tile reflects mightily on a sunny day.
Even laundry is pretty when you’re traveling.
When coming down a steep, unexpectedly devoid-of-cars hill, a driver needs to be very confident about their brakes.
If we weren’t focused on becoming pilgrims, and didn’t need to carry everything we bought, the shopping here would tempt me beyond reason. Lots of beautiful clothes, pottery, art, even sardines.
The views are worth the climb. Unfortunately, even the best camera couldn’t capture the grandeur.
Downhill is actually tougher than uphill.
I’d like to drink a meia-de-leite (espresso with milk) every day.
